The Faculty of Letters’ campaign “HIGH SCHOOL REACH-OUT” continued on Thursday 6 April wth visits to “Marin Sorescu” Arts High School and “Elena Cuza” Philology National College in Craiova.
Senior lecturers Ana-Maria Trantescu and Mihai Cosoveanu, of the Department of British, American and German Studies, presented the faculty’s academic programmes to high school students.
Prof. Richard St. Peter, this year’s Fulbright scholar and American lecturer with the Department, talked about the US educational system, scholarship opportunities, students’ projects and contests.
Students showed interest in the department’s Speak the Speech Monologue Contest addressed to both high school and university students.
In this contest students are required to record themselves while delivering a Shakespeare’s monologue in a spectacular site in town. The short videos will then be sent to the following address: ucvenglezagermana@gmail.com.
